Quinnipiac Game Design and Development alumni

The Game Design and Development curriculum provides flexibility junior year, enabling our students to take advantange of Quinnipiac's Study abroad opportunities. We also offer courses that involve international travel, like our course analyzing Assassin's Creed in Florence. We encourage all of our students to experience living and learning in another country.

Florence, Italy

This 3-credit course entails a trip to Florence to aid in the analaysis of Assassin’s Creed II. The course description follows:

  • Study the process of creating a history-based game through analysis of the Assassin’s Creed II game set in Florence, Italy. We will study the environments, characters, and storylines in the game and then travel to Florence to consider how the game creators built on and modified historical elements to create a hugely successful game.
  • Consider the ethics of the Templars and religious figures of the period.
  • Develop and prototype your own new game idea based on elements of Florentine history that you discover through research and travel.

Reykjavik University offers a range of courses in Game Design within their Computer Science department.
