Game Prototyper — Internship

New York, NY, the leading “fun + thinking” gaming site with over 2 million daily players on desktop and mobile web, is looking for a Game Prototyping Intern to build from scratch and iterate on a simple block-based 3D game concept. This paid internship will last for four weeks with the possibility of extending based on the success of the project.

What you’ll do with us:

  • Implement core game loop based on a pre-written Game Design Document
  • Rapidly iterate game design based on your ideas and feedback from Coolmath Games Product team
  • Brainstorm new design ideas

What you’ll do with us:

  • What we’re looking for:
  • Strong game development and coding skills
  • Strong game design sense
  • Examples of 3D games that you developed
  • Experience with rapid prototyping
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

This internship will be for 25 hours a week, for four weeks. You’ll work 2 days per week from our office near Grand Central, and remotely for the remainder. The goal is to quickly iterate through several gameplay concepts over the course of the internship so that we can ‘find the fun’ and feel confident in the game design. If successful, the design will then be used to create an online multiplayer game exclusively for the Coolmath Games website. The compensation for this position is $20/hour.

Coolmath Games is an equal opportunity employer. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, women, LGBTQ, and people of underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
